The location of this hotel is exceptionally close to Piazza San Marco, in fact as you walk out of the front door and turn right you arrive at Doge's Palace in approximately 1 minute! After reading some awful reviews about this hotel just before we set off, I was so relieved when we arrived to find a very polite and professional man at reception who explained that we could not have the room until 2pm but he would check us in and we could leave our cases in the reception area while we went for lunch. Our room was clean, tidy and, considering the hotel is 134 years old, we were more than happy with the size. The decor matched the photographs and description. Our beds were comfortable and everything worked. Breakfast is free, it's simple no frills - coffee, tea or juice with croissants/bread cheese, ham, salami or cereal. We ate it everyday without complaint, however there are plenty of cafe's to choose from should you want anything else. We had no unwanted visitors in our room, the staff were not rude or Basil Fawlty-ish the hotel was certainly not dirty and we'd most certainly go back again. Thank you Hotel Antico Panada - you were a great base for us to explore from.

The room we stayed in was accessed from a separate entrance to the hotel, which was just around the corner and our room, at the top of the building, offered views of the top of San Marco Basillica. Once I had initially gotten over the height (which in most people's standards is not that high), it was an amazing location with beautiful, unique views and surrounded by restaurants and small takeouts up the side streets of San Marco. We were five minutes away from San Zaccaria Alilalguna stop, which offers routes in almost any direction. Including Murano and Burano. The room itself was typically venetian, old, and needed slight maintenance. It could have been cleaner (behind the bedside tables), and the hairdryer was functional but certainly older than me. The shower worked but was kind of in the middle of the bath rather than to the side, so it was difficult to shower properly without getting the floor soaked. The bed was comfortable, and overall, the room offered all you need, including a fridge and safe, additional blankets, and a TV. We would definitely stay here again.

We liked our room on the 4th floor. It was small, but this is to be expected in 3 star hotels in Venice. It was clean and the housekeepers did an excellent job of keeping it up everyday. From the top floor of the hotel we were above the street noise, for the most part. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom reasonably equipped. Breakfast was adequate, fresh croissants every morning! The location of this hotel is excellent, just off piazza San Marco. The hotel hastypically Venitian decor.

Location was excellent...the hotel is very close to St.Marks cathedral and how many hotels can boast that their clients can wake up to the sounds of the bells ringing Also the hotel is within a 5 min walk to St.marco zechariah boat piers which allows you access to all boats in the grand canal as well as easy travelling to Murano,Burano and Torcello Staff are very friendly and helpful and helped us out when getting our luggage delivered from the airport

The location is great! Just walk a couple of minutes south, and you're in Piazza San Marco. Walk about 7 minutes west, and you're at the Rialto Bridge. I'll add that the breakfast is good - sweet rolls, bread, jam and spreads, meats and cheese, cereal and yogurt, fruit juice and coffee/hot chocolate.
